O&N Cooling n' Heating

New Early access program now open in the Houston area

Know when your A/C starts changing, before it becomes a breakdown.

OnCooling Cloud is a new subscription service from O&N Cooling and Heating. Two small sensors watch your system 24 hours a day, learn how it normally runs, and warn you as soon as something starts to drift. You don't have to watch your A/C. OnCooling Cloud does.

  • Monitored 24/7/365
  • No hardware to buy
  • Built by HVAC technicians
  • No commitment to join

Heads up: efficiency below normal

Your A/C is using more power than usual for today's weather. We recommend a quick check before it gets worse.

Your weekly report is ready

Efficiency steady and slightly better than last week. One thermostat suggestion that could lower your bill.

Why we built it

Most A/C problems don't happen overnight

After years of servicing systems across Houston, we kept seeing the same story. A failure rarely comes out of nowhere. It starts as a small change in how the system runs: a coil getting dirty, a part starting to wear, refrigerant slowly leaking.

Those changes are invisible from inside the house. You only notice once the bill jumps, the house stops cooling, or the repair has grown much bigger than it had to be. OnCooling Cloud exists to catch that change early, while it is still cheap to fix.

What you get

Why it's worth having

Savings

Less wasted energy

A system that loses efficiency keeps cooling, it just costs more to do it. OnCooling Cloud tracks how much energy your A/C really uses against the outdoor weather, so a drop in efficiency shows up in days, not on next season's bills.

Smaller repairs

Catch problems while they're small

Early warnings mean a simple cleaning or adjustment instead of a failed compressor in the middle of a Houston summer. Fixing a problem early is almost always the cheapest way to fix it.

Peace of mind

Alerts that know your system

Every system learns its own normal behavior, so you only hear from us when something is genuinely out of range. Real warnings on your phone, not routine noise.

Fewer visits

Faster, better informed service

When a visit is needed, the technician already knows how your system has been behaving, whether it's one of ours or your own trusted technician. Sensor software updates itself, and if you change your WiFi password you can reconnect the sensors yourself from the app.

How it works

From sensor reading to early warning

  1. 1

    Inspection and installation

A technician first inspects your system, then installs two small sensors: one on your indoor unit and one on your outdoor unit. The sensors are hardware designed by O&N and are installed on consignment, so you never buy them. They connect to your home WiFi and nothing changes in how you use your thermostat.

  2. 2

    It learns your system

The platform studies your equipment for as many days as it takes to build a statistically stable picture of every measured variable. That becomes your system's own normal, with the outdoor weather taken into account.

  3. 3

    It watches every cycle

Every time your A/C runs, it is compared with its own baseline. Hot days are expected to work harder, so the weather is factored in before anything counts as a problem.

  4. 4

    You stay informed

If something drifts out of range, you get a notification on your phone. Every week and every month you also receive a plain-language report on how your system is doing.

What it watches

Real measurements, taken at the equipment

A thermostat only knows the temperature in one room. OnCooling Cloud measures how the equipment itself is performing.

Supply and return air

The temperature of the air going into and coming out of your system, and the difference between them.

Static pressure

How freely air moves through your ducts and filter. A clogged filter or a restriction shows up here.

Electrical power

Current, power and energy used by the outdoor unit, the biggest part of what your A/C costs to run.

Runtime and cycles

How long and how often the system runs. A system that struggles to keep up runs longer than it should.

Outdoor weather

Local conditions are factored into every comparison, so a hot afternoon is never mistaken for a fault.

Sensor connectivity

The sensors check in constantly, so you know your system is being watched at all times.

The difference

Without monitoring vs. with OnCooling Cloud

Without monitoring With OnCooling Cloud
You find out when the house is already warm. You get an early warning when performance starts to drift.
Lost efficiency shows up months later as a higher bill. Efficiency is tracked every week, adjusted for the weather.
The technician starts every diagnosis from scratch. Your technician, ours or yours, sees how your system has been behaving.
Your system gets looked at once a year, if that. Your system is watched on every cycle, 24/7/365.

Backed by real technicians

Built by the people who fix A/C systems

OnCooling Cloud was designed by HVAC technicians at O&N Cooling and Heating, not by a gadget company. It looks at your system the way a technician would, and when an alert needs a visit, the people who answer already understand your system's data.

You're free to choose your technician. Using O&N's repair services is not required: if you already trust a technician from another company, they can review your system's technical data from your app or from their own profile in the OnCooling Cloud portal.

The goal is simple: know more about your A/C without having to become an HVAC expert.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Does it replace my thermostat?

No. You keep your thermostat and use it exactly as you do today. OnCooling Cloud works alongside it and watches how the equipment performs.

What kind of systems does it work with?

It currently covers split systems for cooling and heating, the most common setup in Houston homes. Heat pumps are not covered yet. A technician inspects your system before anything is installed to confirm it's a good fit.

When does it start sending alerts?

Once it has learned your system. The learning period lasts as many days as needed to gather a statistically stable sample of each measured variable, so that real deviations can be told apart from normal variation.

Do I need to install an app?

The OnCooling Cloud app installs straight from your phone's browser, with no app store needed. That's where you receive alerts and can check your system from anywhere.

What happens if I change my WiFi password?

You can prepare the sensors from the app before the change, and they will reconnect to your new network. No technician visit required.

How much does it cost?

OnCooling Cloud will be a monthly subscription, and that's all you pay. The sensors are hardware designed by O&N and are installed on consignment: you never pay for them and never have to buy them. Plans and pricing are still being finalized during the initial program. Join the list and we'll share the details with you first.

Do I have to buy the sensors? What happens if I cancel?

No, you never buy them. The sensors remain the property of O&N and are installed on consignment as part of the service. If you decide to cancel your subscription, a technician comes by and removes them. You never lose an investment in hardware.

What happens when I get an alert?

The alert explains what changed in plain language. Some things you can solve yourself, like a dirty filter. When it needs a technician, you can call us and we'll already know what your system has been doing, or call your own technician, who can see the same information.

Do I have to use O&N for repairs?

No. OnCooling Cloud does not require you to use O&N's technical services. If you already have a technician you trust from another company, they can check your system's technical information from your app or from their own technician profile in the OnCooling Cloud portal, and use it to diagnose and repair your system.
